Fab'n'Funky Challenges #195 - Cute Critters

Hello Crafters,

Well after the excitement of our birthday celebrations at Fab'n'Funky Challenges, we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who entered a card or project during the fortnight of Anything Goes.  We had a lot of fun checking out the entries.  The winners are all on the blog now so be our guest and take a peek!

The show must go on as they say and we are back with another great challenge.  Ginny is our talented host and she has chosen a theme for all the animal lovers!

CUTE CRITTERS

We would like to see animals on your projects - the cuter the better!

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous:-

Who are offering a fab prize of a $10 voucher to spend in
The StampFairy shop

I've mixed it up a bit this week!  I haven't made a card but a hanger.  When I saw this super cute image called Monkeys Bananas 1 from StampFairy I just knew it would be perfect for my cousin's little boy.  My cousin would never be without her cuddly monkey when we were young so this totally fitted the bill for her son!

I started with my image and coloured him using ProMarkers in Summer Sun, Lemon, Primrose, Sand Dune, Cocoa, Cinnamon, March Hare and I dotted the Blender pen for texture.  I cut out my image using Spellbinders Labels One and also cut one of these in kraft card.  I used my guillotine to slice this in half and then punched two holes in each piece and four in my topper.  I threaded the baker's twine through the three sections and secured in place with Cosmic Shimmer glue.  The letters were cut out using Spellbinders Alphabet set and inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The yellow card is Coredinations.  Finally, I added my stars which came from American Crafts.

Here is a close up of the cute little guy!

I really hope you can join us for our Cute Critters challenge this week at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

Hello! My name is Joanna Munster, owner/designer/illustrator of Inspired by Stamping. I started crafting 12 1/2 years ago when I started capturing my daughter’s special moments with scrapbooking. I quickly fell in love with all things crafty including cross stitch, crocheting, knitting, drawing, jewelry making but my love has always been towards the paper crafty industry. It is a place where I can lose myself in creating for hours.
Three years ago, my hubby, myself and our three children moved from the United States to Australia. While waiting for my working visa, I started drawing and paper crafting full time with my blog. One of my dear friends suggested that I make a stamp set with one of my drawings and this is where Inspired by Stamping started.
We love every moment of working in this industry from the beautiful women and men that we meet daily, to the amazing and creative designs that we see when a friend uses an Inspired by Stamping set.
You as our customer will ALWAYS be our top priority! If you have any questions or if something is not right, please let us know. We will get back to you ASAP! Our email is customerservice@inspiredbystamping.com

Prize is 3 digis of the winner's choice

Prize is 3 images of the winner's choice from the Lacy Sunshine Shop

For this reminder post I chose to use a Lili of the Valley image.  I have loads of their gorgeous stamps but I decided to try out one of the new Art Pads.  I chose a cute baby image from Art Pad 11 as my friend had a little boy on Tuesday.  Well, maybe not so little at 8lb 10oz!  Here is my card:

I started with an 8" cardblank and embossed the front using Sue Wilson's Basket Weave folder.  I covered in Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Orange Marmalade.  My topper, DCWV patterned paper and Coredinations were layered onto kraft card with my Perfect Layers tools.  I inked around the edge of the main topper with the same Distress Ink and then used a micron pen to draw the faux stitching.

My sentiment banner was cut using Spellbinders Tags and Banners and I inked with is the Orange Marmalade DI too.  I attached this and the topper with foam pads.  My finishing touch was the wooden heart which came from American Crafts.

I really hope you can join in and party by linking up to Fab'n'Funky this week.  You have until 8pm (UK time) on Tuesday 26 November.  You've got to be in it to win it!

Happy crafting,

Fab'n'Funky Challenge #132 - Anything But A Card

Hi All,

I think these weeks are flying by even faster than normal just now.  Have you checked out the winner of our last challenge yet?  If not, head over to the Fab'n'Funky Challenges blog.  We also have badges for the winner and Top 3 so make sure you pick one up if it's you.

And without further ado, we have another new challenge for you at Fab'n'Funky.  I'm your host for this week and I've chosen the following theme...

Anything But A Card

You can make any project you like but just make sure there are NO cards.  We also have a really exciting new sponsor - Flonzcraft, who are stamp manufacturers from New Zealand.

They have an amazing offer for everyone who enters our challenge this week.  Be sure to click on our challenge blog to find out more.  The challenge winner, picked at random, will also receive a $20 voucher to spend and their order will qualify for FREE shipping!  Wooo!

I made a scrapbook layout using Vintage Girl Fashion - Fifties 03 and I absolutely love this stamp.  We were such a lucky DT to receive some stamps to play with ourselves.  This one had to jump into my basket as soon as I saw it.

My papers are from the Indigo Bleu range by Pink Paislee and I bought them from Create and Craft when they had their International Craft Event.  I have been putting off using them because they are so beautiful and every one is different.

I used Spellbinders Labels One Scalloped to frame my stamp and Labels Four for my journalling.  I've not cracked the journalling yet but I'm trying to improve.  I don't know when the photo was taken but it shows my Granny and Grandad on the right and my Granny's sister and brother-in-law on the left.  I'll have to ask my Granny if she remembers getting this picture taken.

I cut several different sized strips and then ran the light grey strip through a paper crimper for texture.  The bunting was made using an American Crafts mask.  I drew around the shape and then cut it out by hand.  The "Sisters" lettering was cut using my Cricut Expression 2 and the Paper Lace 2 cartridge.

And here is a close up of that gorgeous stamp.

I left it uncoloured as I thought it looked more like the old images of the Fifites.  I have a great idea for my next project using it though!

Have fun creating your projects and I can't wait to visit you all and see what you've done.

Do make sure you check out the other DT members' blogs.  Their projects are amazing, as always, and I want to thank them all for sharing their creativity and being such a lovely team.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
