Fab'n'Funky Challenges #191 - Halloween

Boo!

Can you tell that we are celebrating Halloween over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges this week?!  Angelique is our very talented and kind host and you're going to be spooked by her chosen challenge...

Halloween

It couldn't be simpler!  Just make a Halloween themed project and link it up.  We also have a brilliant sponsor this week too - Bugaboo Stamps.

They are offering 7 digis to the randomly chosen winner.  So make sure you're in it to win it!  I chose to use Magical Tidbits Bookshelf from Bugaboo and really love the versatility of this image.

I coloured my image with ProMarkers in Bright Orange, Soft Melba, Tropical Sunrise, Black, Forest Green, Apple Green, Green Shoot and all the Cool Greys.  To get the shape, I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five and then created a faux layer by drawing around the die and cutting out with scissors.

My stripey paper is from Bo Bunny's Vicki B Collection.  The black card is from Creative Expressions and I embossed it using an Embossalicious folder.  To finish I added three green gems from Create and Craft which are a really light lime green but haven't shown up too well in the photo.

I really hope you'll come along to spook us this week at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.

Happy Crafting,

Fab'n'Funky Challenges #182 - You Can Stick It!

Hi Everyone,

We are back at Fab'n'Funky Challenges with a brand new challenge for you today.  The winners from last time are also on the blog so head on over to find out who was lucky.

The talented and very kind Ciska is our host this week and we have a great challenge to help you use up some stash...

You Can Stick It!

We would like you to use stickers on your project.  They can be peel-offs, glitter stickers, word stickers or any other kind of sticker from your crafty bounty.  Just make sure you tell us what you've used.

Our sponsor this week is the brilliant Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  They have a stamp for every occasion and some really funny ones too.

The DT were lucky enough to work with fabulous Bugaboo images and I chose to work with the Silhouette Butterfly Flowers image which you can find here.

I started with a 6" square scalloped card blank and used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create texture in the middle of the card.  I inked this with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Fired Brick to make it pop.  My image was cut out using Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles.  I simply threaded the ribbon through the holes created by the die and tied in a bow at the top.  This is the first time I've used this technique but really liked the effect.

My stickers are ancient!  They are glittery butterfly stickers from Anita's.  I think I might have bought them from the DoCrafts website a few years ago but really can't remember.

I really hope you can join us to stick it this week.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

Fab'n'Funky Challenges #135 - Use Leaves Somewhere

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe how fast that last week has gone!  And we are around to the next challenge on Fab'n'Funky Challenges already.  It's a good one too!  If you haven't checked out the winners of the last challenge head over to the Challenge blog.

We have the extremely talented Pat K as our host this week and she has chosen a fab challenge...

Use Leaves Somewhere

You can use any kind of leaves you like in any way but just make sure they appear on your project.  We have a great sponsor too - Bugaboo.  The DT were so lucky to have some gorgeous digi stamps to use.  It was so hard to choose though!

I made this card using BBrat girl flower sitter as she was super cute.  I chose an autumnal colour pallete and was pleased with how she turned out.  Unfortunately I put the list of ProMarkers that I used out with the rubbish.  D'oh!  The ones I can remember are Forest Green, Gold, Lipstick Red, Ruby, Blush, Dusky Pink, Bright Orange, Cinnamon and Henna.  My little image is sitting on a Spellbinders Floral Ovals die-cut.

I made the background paper using elements from the My Craft Studio Artiste Collection CD-ROM.  The ribbon came from some packaging.  I mounted onto gold mirri-card and then onto a white card blank.  I used a corner punch to round the edges.

I can't wait to see what leafy wonders you all come up with for this challenge.  Be sure to check out the other DT creations.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
