Hi Crafters,
It's Wednesday again and that means a new challenge at Fab'n'Funky but first, head on over to the blog to see our winner from last week's fruity challenge. We loved your great designs.
I predict a lot of love for our challenge this week! The very talented Dawn is our host and she has chosen the theme of...
Birthday
Simples! I don't think this one needs any explaining! Our sponsor is the totally awesome Mayzyart and the DT were so lucky to work with her fab images. I used Maurine with Tea for my card.
I started with a piece of Coredinations cardstock and I embossed this several times to extend the pattern with an embossing folder that I received free with the last Crafter's Companion magazine. I really like the flower and dotty patchwork pattern. To reveal the core I sanded back using the Crafter's Companion Coredinations Accessory Kit. The lilac ribbon was on sale at Hobbycraft a few years back and this is the first time I've used it.
I used Creative Expressions crinkle paper for the bottom and then added half a doily coloured using the Twilight Sky ProMarker. My cup was made from Spellbinders Tea Cups and I stamped the sentiment with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. The gems were affixed by hand using Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue.
I coloured Maurine with ProMarkers in Blush, Dusky Pink, Caramel, Cocoa, Henna, Ruby, Lipstick Red, Indigo Blue, Reef Blue, Twilight Sky, Polar Blue, Amethyst, Peony and Lilac. I cut down some Hunkydory foam pads to attach her to my card. I finished by adding some glitter to make stream from the tea cup.
I really hope you'll join us this week to celebrate someone's birthday. The more the merrier!
Happy crafting,

Hi Everyone,
Well, isn't the time just whizzing by. I can't believe we are back on Wednesday again! As you know Wednesday means a great new challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges and this week is no different. But first we have to say a big thank you to each and every one of you who entered our last challenge - we saw so many wonderful sentiments. The winners and Top 3 have been announced over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges so head on over for a look.
Have you seen our exciting DT Call? If not, all the details can be found at Fab'n'Funky Challenges. You don't need to have previous DT experience - just a love of craft!
Now, we had better announce the next challenge and it's a corker! Pat is our host and you should definitely pop by her blog for some inspiration. She also has a lovely brood of gorgeous grand-daughters!
Pink, Green and Brown
Our sponsor this week is MayzyArt.
She is becoming a firm fave of mine and the DT were so lucky to be able to work with her images this week. I chose Frog Princess and here is my card...
I started by colouring my image with ProMarkers in Peony, Fuchsia Pink, Cerise, Marsh Green, Pear Green, Lime Green, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Blush, Satin, Gold and Blender. When I finished, I scanned it using my Brother printer and then took it into Serif's Craft Artist 2 Professional. I had only intended to make some matching papers but this card just came together almost by itself! I used the current sketch on Sketch Saturday blog which looks like this...
Great sketch and I love all the ideas they have over at Sketch Saturday. My papers are from different kits so I haven't got a note of them. The ribbon came from the Afternoon Tea kit. I tried the 3D decoupage tool for the first time on this card. It was really easy and I love the result. Here is a shot of the inside of my card...
This was a super quick card to put together but I like that I've been able to use my coloured image in a different way. I really hope you can join us for our Pink, Green and Brown challenge this week.
Happy crafting,
Rachel x

Hi friends,
It's that time again - Fab'n'Funky time! We have a brand new challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges hosted by the lovely Shirley and would like to see you...
Get Moving
That's right, as it's January we would like to see any images that feature someone or something doing something active, an activity or moving. There are so many fun possiblities for this challenge so I do hope you can join us. Our sponsor is the fantastic MayzyArt. You should definitely check out her site as there are so many wonderful digis. The DT were so lucky to be able to use some of her amazing artwork for this challenge.

I've gone girly for my card! When I saw this image on the MayzyArt site, I just knew it would be perfect for this challenge. I chose to colour her up in mainly green and orange as these are the favourite colours of my friends' daughter. I was pleased with how it turned out as I have been neglecting my ProMarkers lately. I used Almond, Dusky Pink, Cinnamon, Caramel, Watermelon (FlexMarker), Caramel, Burnt Umber, Artic Blue, Sorft Aqua (FlexMarker), Pear Green and Gold. I used Spellbinders Majestic Squares as it seemed to be the perfect fit for my image. My papers are from various kits in Serif. I cut four of the branches from Spellbinders Cherry Blossom to create a frame. I computer generated my sentiment used Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Six to cut out the shapes. My final finishing touch was to add five gems to the top right-hand corner. These are a lovely orangey gold colour which hasn't shown up in the photo.
I hope you can join us for this great challenge.
Happy crafting,
Rachel x
