Elliott's Angel DT Post - Celebrate You

Hi Crafters,

I'm back on the Hope-Chances blog today featuring a card with Spellbinders dies and stamps.  Yes, you read right - Spellbinders stamps! Woo Hoo!

My main topper was made using the Spellbinders Labels 49 Decorative Elements, inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade.  I added a die cut wreath from the Spellbinders Wreath set and inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Aged Mahogany.  My patterned paper is from a Lawn Fawn paper pad called Sweater Weather and is also available in the Hope Chances shop.  I love this paper pad and the quality is great.

I created my embellishments from the Spellbinders Acorns set and curved them around my finger to give dimension, raising up with foam pads.

My sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with WOW Embossing Powder.  The original stamp says "For You" but I masked the "For" before inking, then uncovered and only the "You" stamped.

Fab'n'Funky Challenges #174 - Let's Get Fruity

Hi Everyone,

Wednesday's seem to be here before I know it just now.  It's only two and a half weeks until my brother's wedding.  Eek!  I'm sure it'll be more hectic before then too!

But I have a post to do and the Fab'n'Funky Challenges blog has been updated with the winners and Top 3 from last week's challenge of One for the Girls.  We were bowled over with all the great entries.  Thanks to everyone for making our job so hard but enjoyable!

Let's Get Fruity

We would like to see fruit in your design.  You could add a fruity embellishment, digi or backing paper.  Our sponsor is the awesome Stamp Fairy and the DT were lucky to be able to work with their images.  I used Lenny Fruits 3 and you can find him here.

I started with a 6" scalloped card blank and printed the checked paper from Craft Artist Professional 2 after changing the colour to monochrome.  I ran this though an Embossalicious embossing folder from Crafter's Companion with a chevron design.  

My image was coloured with ProMarkers in Cool Grey 1, CG2, CG3, CG4, CG5, Ruby, Heatwave, Apple Cider and Pear Green.  I cut out the little guy with Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven.  Finally, I added a big green satin bow and ribbon border. My button is recycled from a piece of clothing.

A Flower for You!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I have a new crafty cupboard courtesy of Storage 4 Crafts and this morning it was an absolute pleasure to make my first card with a place for everything and everything in its place!  I think I may even turn into a tidy crafter - shock horror!  

I saw that the latest challenge over at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog was to use a Wryn image and being a huge fan, I decided to give it a go.  It's also Saturday and that means a new sketch over at the Sketch Saturday blog.  I love their ideas and this one was no different...

I think this sketch will be so useful for a whole variety of cards.  So I'm sure you'd like to see my card by now!  I'll not keep you in suspense any longer!

Isn't this image just adorable?!  It's called Bugs and Kisses!  I started with a 5.25" kraft card blank and then layered up a piece of Me To You red dotty paper which came free with a magazine.  I thought the jaunty angle might add an extra dimension so squint it was!  I took a piece of Dawn Bibby paper and chopped the silver bubble border off to give me a purple stripey layer.  My ribbon is from DoCrafts and I've had it for ages.  

I coloured my image with ProMarkers in Cinnamon, Vanilla, Dusky Pink, Blush, Ruby, Lipstick Red, Spring Lilac, Lilac, Henna, Cocoa, Caramel, Cool Grey 1, Yellow, Marsh Green and I also used the blender pen on the little hedgehog.  My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I really love them.

The Cuttlebug Spot DT Card - Cute as a Button

Phew, what a blog hop at The Cuttlebug Spot last week!  I hope you enjoyed hopping to all of your blogs.  Thanks so much to everyone for the lovely comments and follows.

Cute as a Button

We would love you feature a button on your project and tell us how you used your Cuttlebug.  Here is my inspiration...

I started with 6" scalloped card blank from Anita's.  I made my papers by using the colour picker tool in Craft Artist 2 Professional.  My image is produced by Hunkydory for Crafter's Companion and is from the Angelic and Friends range.  As soon as I saw this collection, I knew I had to add it to my basket!  Just as well Create and Craft had it on such a good deal! 

My harlequin cardstock is also from the paper kit.  I cut this with Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles in the smallest size as it fits perfectly through the Cuttlebug.  Using Spellbinders Standard Circles, I cut a layer for my topper.  The vertical strip of paper was passed through a paper crimper to create texture.  I bought the ribbon a few years ago from Hobbycraft and it's from DoCrafts' Papermania range.  My finishing touch was to add my buttons and I used Spellbinders Sewing Elements to cut them.

Fab'n'Funky Challenges #134 - Angels and Fairies

Hi All,

Well, we've had a day of all seasons here today.  At the moment it's summer but this morning was definitely winter.  Long may summer continue!

It's time for a brand new challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.  Our host this week is Judit and she has chosen a lovely theme...

Angels and Fairies

Now on to my card.  The DT had lovely images to play with and I chose Annie Angel 4 which is a very cute angel digi. 

My papers are from Basic Grey and I love the bright colours of this pack.  I used my X-Cut star dies to cut the shapes from the pink paper and then layered using foam tape over the orange paper.

I coloured my lovely image using ProMarkers in the following colours:

Almond
Blush
Vanilla
Bright Orange
Rose Pink
Cerise
Pear Green

Then I cut her out using my Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.  The ribbon was recycled from some packaging and I love how it pops.  My sentiment came free with a magazine and is from the Polka Doodles range.
