Fab'n'Funky Challenges #186 - Button It

Hi All,

I hope you are well and crafting with plenty of lovely goodies.  We have a great new challenge over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges but firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who entered our Leaves challenge last week.  We had a lovely time looking at all the wonderful creations.  The winner and Top 3 are over on the blog now so check it out soon.

On to this week and Wendy is our brilliant host with a great theme that you can really put your own spin on...

Button It

We would like you to use buttons on  your project.  They can be real, paper, digital or just mahoosive!  Our sponsor this week is one of my favourite digital stamp companies - The Paper Shelter.  The random winner will receive a $20 voucher to spend in their online store.  I'm ever so slightly jealous!

The DT were very lucky to be able to work with The Paper Shelter images this week and I chose to use Rhythm Everywhere.

I started with a 6" scalloped card blank and my first layer was made using kraft card and a piece of Pebbles backing paper.  I then embossed the blue Coredinations with a Spellbinders M-bossability folder called Hearts.  This layer was also matted with kraft card.  My ribbon was recycled from some pajamas packaging!  My buttons were created with a die from the Spellbinders Sewing Elements set.

I used Spellbinders Circles to cut out my main image and layer and then mounted on foam pads from Hunkydory.  The little shiny bursts are the waste from another card!  I used a Memory Box die (Snowflake Burst) with Centura Pearl cardstock and they just went perfectly.

I really hope you can join us for our Button It challenge this week at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

Fab'n'Funky Challenges #161 - Cute and Cuddly

Hi All,

We're back with another great challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.  But first, if you were one of the lovely people who entered our Pastel Colours challenge last week head over to the Fab'n'Funky Challenges blog to see our random winner and Top 3.

I'm sure you're all wondering what we have in store for you this week.  Well, the glamourous Judith has picked a fab theme for you all...

Cute and Cuddly

We will be looking for cute makes featuring cuddlies!  It's really up to you how you interpret this one.

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps.  The winner will receive 7 digi stamps of their choice.  Click here if you fancy checking out the great designs in advance.

The DT were lucky to be able to use Bugaboo stamps for this challenge and as soon as I saw this image I knew it would be perfect.  This is Sock Monkey Boy...

I used the current layout from Sketch Saturday for this card and here is the example

I coloured my little cutie with ProMarkers in Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Starfish, Cornflower, Cobalt Blue and Capri Blue.  Using the blender pen, I dotted around the image to add texture.

My brown and orange cardstock are Coredinations and I scrunched up the orange and then sanded back to reveal the core.  I created the background with an embossing folder from Spellbinders - Twigs and Tweets.  I hoped you can see the dimension.  The dotty paper is from Create and Craft and I bought it ages ago in two sizes!  My buttons started as plain white but I used the Walnut ProMarker to make them match my image.  They dried really quickly too after I had blotted with some of the Hunkydory foam pad backings!  Crafters really do use everything in sight for creating!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The Cuttlebug Spot DT Card - Cute as a Button

Hello Everyone,

Phew, what a blog hop at The Cuttlebug Spot last week!  I hope you enjoyed hopping to all of your blogs.  Thanks so much to everyone for the lovely comments and follows.

We've got a fantastic new challenge for you this week.  Our theme is...

Cute as a Button

We would love you feature a button on your project and tell us how you used your Cuttlebug.  Here is my inspiration...

I started with 6" scalloped card blank from Anita's.  I made my papers by using the colour picker tool in Craft Artist 2 Professional.  My image is produced by Hunkydory for Crafter's Companion and is from the Angelic and Friends range.  As soon as I saw this collection, I knew I had to add it to my basket!  Just as well Create and Craft had it on such a good deal!

My harlequin cardstock is also from the paper kit.  I cut this with Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles in the smallest size as it fits perfectly through the Cuttlebug.  Using Spellbinders Standard Circles, I cut a layer for my topper.  The vertical strip of paper was passed through a paper crimper to create texture.  I bought the ribbon a few years ago from Hobbycraft and it's from DoCrafts' Papermania range.  My finishing touch was to add my buttons and I used Spellbinders Sewing Elements to cut them.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Milk Coffee - Make It Cute
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #39 - Button Up
A Gem of a Challenge - Dies and Punches

Be sure to check out my teamies creations.  Hope you can join in our challenge this week.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
